LIA
I'm very grateful to folks like you who have the obsession and TIME to gather such research and put together such wonderful writings.

In response to the thread about "why we come here"

Your posts and the thought and discussion provoked by others is one of the top reasons

Other being - it's really fun to listen to great music

Wonderful job once again Mr. Ashes.I look forward to your future thoughts on this line of thought (medleys/transition music) as it gets more interesting in later years.I will have to read the section dedicated to Miles again and respond in kind. After listening to the beautiful transition from Cryptical -> Clementine from 2/20, I jumped over to the Deadessays site and read your Clementine post and went on a tear listening to a number of those, the studio Hartbeat version from 9/21 is really fantastic.

I would hope a post of this size and depth could generate more discussion than it has so far,the why are we here poll generated about 30-40 responses,if something of this quality can't generate more than a few,why the fuck are we here?

I think something like this essay is a bit much to take in. Simple questions or polls will naturally draw more replies than long, dense encyclopedic analysis; that's how it usually is. Even for the few other 1968 fanatics, just going through this post & revisiting some examples would take a while, let alone coming up with comments or discussion. I'm quite aware of this - I don't write these just for today's readers, but for the future.
